Making quick game for steam!?
Untitled laser sword game » Devlog
Hi guys!
In this devlog I'd like to talk about the future of this game and how I made it to this point.
Since last devlog I started focussing on sword attacks, at the beginning I had no idea how to do it. From what i learned I had two options:
- Do 2 animations for each attack where the first one would be the anticipation and at the end of the anticipation it would do collision test, after the test the contact and recovery in one animation would play. This wasn't a bad idea but I disliked having more animations for one thing.
- Just 1 animation but with a script that would counted down from the start of the animation for set amount of time, in the end it would check for collision. This had one issue and that is that it's independent. Meaning that the animation doesn't "communicate" with the script. It only has the same start.
I chose the second option for more comfort..
As you can probably tell from the title I was thinking I could put this little game on steam just for fun... I haven't decided yet so stay tunned!
